cheap amp simulator pedal Boss IR-2 Amp and Cabinet Simulator Pedal – nafiriguitar.com

Boasting 11 spot-on amplifier emulations and a robust IR section, the IR-2 Amp & Cabinet pedal is a full-featured amp simulator pedal the size of a standard BOSS overdrive box. From BOSS amp creations inspired by the Sweetwater-favorite Katana series to exacting emulations of history’s most sought-after tube amps, the IR-2’s 11 amplifier models each come paired with a custom-curated Celestion cabinet IR simulation. Moreover, the IR-2 Also sports a USB-C port for third-party IR loading and doubling in function as a 6-string-specific audio interface for effortless recording. The pedal also features a mono/stereo loop for patching in effects, a headphone jack, and a 4-concentric-knob control setup for an intuitive sound-sculpting workflow. Versatile enough to cover any sonic situation and compact enough to slot onto any pedalboard, the BOSS IR-2 is destined to become the centerpiece of your gigging or recording rig!

11 Expertly Emulated Amplifiers

The IR-2's grand total of 11 amplifier models covers every sonic need you could ever imagine, ranging from spot-on emulations of classic tube amps to BOSS's custom creations. Moreover, the IR-2 can even be configured to swap between two amp models (via the pedal switch or external footswitch) to instantly switch up your tone while onstage.

• Clean: A pure BOSS original, providing a full-range and natural-sounding tone for all your distortion-free activities.
• Twin: This setting captures the tone of a legendary 2 x 12-inch combo, famous for its deep and colorful cleans.
• Tweed: Ideal for fans of a rougher, rawer tone, the IR-2's Tweed setting is modeled after a 4 x 10-inch combo from the 1950s.
• Diamond: British amplification enthusiasts will surely love the Diamond setting, as it beautifully emulates the chimey cleans and aggressive bite of the amp that defined the 1960s British invasion.
• Crunch: Another BOSS original, Crunch instantly transforms your tone into a clear, hi-fi-sounding, and dirt-laden punch.
• Brit: A super-sounding lead amplifier, Brit delivers the roaring sound of the mid-1960s’ most iconic amplifier stack.
• Hi-gain: If you’ve got metal on your mind, BOSS’s own Hi-gain amplifier model is sure to please, sporting smooth and articulate dirt-drenched tones.
• Sldn: While this amp is largely renowned for its omnipresence in the metal world, Sldn grants you a seriously flexible range of dirty tones inspired by a slow-sounding tube amp from the late 1980s.
• Brown: Straight off of the BOSS Katana series, Brown is a superb amp model for soaring and expressive lead tones.
• Modded: Guitarists seeking only the most brutal of amp tones will be sure to keep their IR-2 locked into the Modded setting — a BOSS original amp that takes you to the deepest depths of high-gain saturation.
• Rfier: Re-creates the dual-rectified boogie of the amp that’s defined high-gain, heavy music for over three decades.

Celestion-Powered IR Cabs

To provide you with the most realistic tones possible, the IR-2’s 11 amp models each come paired with a matching mic’d speaker cab IR emulation. Each IR is custom curated to both enhance the tonal authenticity of each amplifier — for example, the British-style Diamond amplifier comes paired with the sound of two Celestion Blue speakers. Prefer to craft your own amp/IR combinations? The IR-2 Amp & Cabinet also boasts a robust IR loader app (accessible via the USB-C port) and a purpose-built IR loader app to pack the IR-2 full of your favorite third-party IRs.

No Screens, No Menus, No Problem

From the exceptionally accurate amp models to the premium Celestion IRs, the BOSS IR-2 is a full-featured amp-sim pedal of the highest caliber. However, what truly sets the IR-2 apart from the competition is its classic BOSS pedal design, clocking in at a fraction of the size of most amplifier simulation pedals. Each amp is accessed by spinning a simple rotary switch, paired with three concentric knobs to access the 3-band EQ, Level, Gain, and Ambience control — the last of which imparts your tone with a touch of air and depth. Frankly, navigating the IR-2 feels more akin to dialing in your favorite overdrive pedal than any traditional amp sim/IR pedal, making it a must-have for the guitarist who requires uncompromisingly accurate tones in the most compact and intuitive form factor possible.

Full of Utility Features

Small in size, the BOSS IR-2 is packed to the brim with a myriad of handy utility features. Guitarists seeking to integrate the IR-2 into a preexisting rig will be sure to appreciate this pedal’s mono/stereo loops, allowing you to cleanly integrate all your favorite modulation and time-based effects directly after the amplifier emulation section. Looking to lay down a few lines for your next track? Plug the IR-2 into your Mac/PC via the USB-C port to record pre-produced guitar tones straight into your DAW, with a headphone jack for silent recording and practice sessions. Last but not least, the IR-2 Amp& Cabinet supplies plenty of flexibility when it comes to amp switching: Hook up an external footswitch or configure the pedal switch to instantly swap between two amp/cab combos with the click of a button.
